Custom Ice Hockey Kit Manufacturer for Clubs & Teams

In short: ZipaSports is a custom ice hockey kit manufacturer in Sialkot, Pakistan, supplying clubs, minor-hockey associations and rec leagues with game jerseys, practice jerseys, goalie-cut jerseys, socks, base layers and travel wear from 20–25 pieces per design. Teams get a free digital mockup within 24 hours, bulk production in 15–25 business days after approval, and courier delivery to Canada, the USA, the UK, Europe and Australia in 5–10 days.

How an ice hockey club orders from ZipaSports

Ice hockey clubs order differently from most field sports because a jersey has to fit over shoulder pads and elbow pads, a goalie needs a wider, longer cut, and a league usually mandates a light and a dark jersey per team. The order therefore starts with a squad list by position rather than a plain size count.

  1. Send the brief. Logo, light and dark colourways, sponsor logos, the number of skaters and goalies per team, and the season start date.
  2. Approve the free mockup. The in-house studio returns a digital mockup within 24 hours showing front, back and both sleeves with numbers and captaincy letters; revisions are unlimited and free.
  3. Optional physical sample. One jersey in 5–7 days, charged at sample cost and credited against the bulk order, so the coach can check the cut over pads.
  4. Confirm the roster file. Player, jersey size, sock size, name, number, C or A letter, goalie cut yes or no.
  5. Bulk production. 15–25 business days after approval, or 7–12 days on express at additional cost.
  6. Courier delivery. DHL, FedEx or UPS in 5–10 days, with tracking sent to the team manager.

Game jerseys: fully sublimated or knit with sewn crests

The first decision for an ice hockey club is jersey construction, because it changes the fabric, the decoration method and the reorder logic. Fully sublimated jerseys print colours, stripes, crest, names and numbers into the polyester in one pass. Jerseys with sewn decoration carry a tackle-twill or embroidered crest, twill numbers and stitched nameplates on a plain body, which is the traditional pro-style build.

Both routes are built in-house: sublimation on large-format printers and calender presses, twill and embroidery on the multi-head embroidery and appliqué lines described on the tackle twill and appliqué page. Options and cuts are listed on the ice hockey game jerseys page, with goalie-cut jerseys, women's game jerseys and youth game jerseys made to the same artwork.

The full order list, from ice to bus

Beyond the two game jerseys, a club's season order covers practice, base layers, socks, bench staff and travel. Practice jerseys are usually one colour per line with a small crest, reused for several seasons. Reversible scrimmage jerseys let one set serve both sides of an intra-squad game.

Supporter replica jerseys, beanies and puffer parkas for parents are ordered on the same crest files, and off-ice training shorts round out summer programmes. The complete catalogue sits on the ice hockey teamwear page.

Numbers, nameplates, captain letters and sponsors

An ice hockey jersey normally carries the number on the back and on both sleeves, the player's surname above the back number, and a C or A on the upper chest for the captain and alternates. Leagues differ on number height and on whether front numbers are required, so the club sends its league's rule sheet with the brief and the studio sets the artwork to it. Sponsor logos usually sit on the shoulders, the lower back or the front hem, with helmet and pant sponsors handled separately by the club.

On sublimated jerseys, names, numbers and letters are printed with the body, so every player's jersey is individual at no extra decoration cost, and a nameplate is only needed if the club wants the traditional stitched look. On sewn-decoration jerseys, numbers are layered tackle twill and names go on a sewn nameplate in the body colour, which also allows a nameplate to be re-stitched if a number is reassigned.

Goalie jerseys take the same numbers and letters at the same size, positioned for the wider cut so the sleeve number is not hidden by the blocker. Guidance on file formats, letter fonts and league-compliant number heights is on the names, numbers and sponsor logos page.

Sizing over pads: youth, women's and goalie cuts

Ice hockey sizing is judged over equipment, so the roster file asks for jersey size worn over pads rather than street size. ZipaSports grades youth, women's, adult and goalie cuts from one pattern set using computerised pattern making, and the 20–25 piece minimum per design is counted across all of those sizes together. A minor-hockey team of skaters plus two goalies clears the minimum in one jersey colour; light and dark jerseys are two designs.

Youth jerseys are graded shorter in the body and sleeve without shrinking the number panels below league legibility, and women's game jerseys are cut with a narrower shoulder while keeping the same pad allowance. Goalie-cut jerseys are wider through the chest and arms and longer in the body, with a boxier sleeve to clear the blocker and catcher; they are ordered by naming the player as a goalie in the roster file.

Clubs with an existing set can send a measured sample or their own size chart and the pattern room matches it, which keeps a replacement jersey ordered in January consistent with the set delivered in September. Reorders and single replacements below the minimum are possible on request, and adult sizes run XS–5XL, women's XS–4XL, with youth sizes available. The size chart guide explains how to collect over-pad measurements.

Season calendar: when to brief, sample and approve

Most ice hockey seasons run from autumn to spring, with tryouts and roster confirmation in late summer, which leaves a short window between roster and first game. The practical answer is to approve the design and order practice jerseys and bench wear before tryouts, then submit the game-jersey roster file as the last step.

Season stageClub actionLead time it triggers
Spring, previous season endingReview the current set, note worn nameplates and colour changes, send the brief for next seasonFree mockup within 24 hours
Early summerApprove the design; order a physical sample to check fit over padsSample 5–7 days plus courier
Mid-summerApprove practice jerseys, hoodies, jackets and bags with estimated quantitiesBulk 15–25 business days

Pre-seasonReceive delivery, check against the packing list, hand outCourier 5–10 days, one week to distribute
Mid-seasonTop-up jerseys for call-ups and trades from the file on recordLower quantities on request

A club with its roster four weeks before the first game needs express production; eight weeks out, standard production works. Splitting into a pre-tryout batch and a roster batch is the usual way to avoid express costs.

What the team manager sends us

The team manager or equipment manager usually owns the order. The table lists what the studio needs for the mockup and what the cutting room needs before production; the roster file is the only item that has to be complete and final.

Delivery to Canada, the USA, the UK, Europe and Australia, plus the Quality Guarantee

Orders leave Sialkot by DHL, FedEx or UPS and arrive in Canada, the USA, the UK, Europe or Australia in 5–10 days; bulky items such as wheeled equipment bags and parkas can go by sea in 3–6 weeks when the calendar allows. The commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin are prepared by ZipaSports, and duties or taxes at import are normally the club's responsibility; the country pages for Canada, the USA and the UK cover what to expect at customs.

Quality Guarantee: if any garment arrives with a manufacturing defect, we remake it free of charge — the remake goes into production within 3 days of your report. For a club that means a misprinted number, an open seam, a wrong size against the approved specification, or a missing piece against the roster. Report it with photos and the order reference on WhatsApp or email within 7 days of delivery; ZipaSports confirms within 24 hours in business hours, remakes the affected jerseys with the remake in production within 3 days, and ships the replacements at no charge, or issues a credit if the club prefers. Jerseys are made to order with the club's crest and player names, so change-of-mind returns are not accepted; check sizes on the mockup and size chart before approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a rec league hockey team order 20 jerseys with names and numbers?

A rec league team can order 20 jerseys with names and numbers, because the ZipaSports minimum is 20–25 jerseys per design with mixed sizes included. On sublimated jerseys every name, number and captaincy letter is printed at no extra decoration cost. Lower quantities are possible on request, and a second colour counts as a second design.

Do you make goalie-cut hockey jerseys in the same design as the skaters?

Goalie-cut jerseys are made in the same design as the skaters' jerseys, graded wider through the chest and arms and longer in the body from the same artwork, so the crest, striping and numbers match. Goalies are marked in the roster file and their jerseys are counted with the team towards the minimum.

Are the jerseys sublimated or do they have sewn twill crests and numbers?

ZipaSports builds ice hockey jerseys both fully sublimated and with sewn twill crests and numbers, all in-house. Fully sublimated jerseys print colours, crest, names and numbers into the polyester; sewn-decoration jerseys carry a tackle-twill or embroidered crest, layered twill numbers and a stitched nameplate on a plain body. Many clubs choose a sublimated body with a sewn crest.

What fabric and GSM do ice hockey jerseys come in?

Standard options are 100% polyester interlock or mesh with a moisture-wicking finish in the 140–180 GSM range; heavier hockey-weight knits can be quoted on request. Socks are a polyester-cotton-spandex knit, and base layers use polyester-spandex or nylon-spandex 4-way stretch at 240–300 GSM.

Can our minor hockey association order youth, women's and adult jerseys together?

A minor hockey association can order youth, women's and adult jerseys together, graded from one pattern set and counted as one design towards the 20–25 piece minimum. Adult sizes run XS–5XL, women's XS–4XL, and youth sizes are available; the roster file lists each player's size over pads and the cut required.

How do we get a jersey for a player called up mid-season?

Send the player's name, number, size over pads and goalie cut if applicable; the approved mockup, Pantone references and size specification are on file, so the jersey is printed from the same artwork. Single jerseys below the minimum are possible on request, and shade tolerance between dye lots is minor and explained on the Quality Guarantee page.

How long does it take to get custom hockey jerseys delivered to Canada or the USA?

Allow 15–25 business days for production after design approval, or 7–12 days on express at additional cost, then 5–10 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS to Canada or the USA. The free digital mockup arrives within 24 hours of the brief, and a physical sample takes 5–7 days if the club wants one.

Do you also make practice jerseys, socks, hoodies and equipment bags?

ZipaSports also manufactures practice and reversible scrimmage jerseys, ice hockey socks, base layers, warm-up hoodies, team jackets, travel suits, bench staff polos and wheeled equipment bags in Sialkot, Pakistan. All are made on the same crest and colour files as the game jerseys, so the club's set matches across the season.

What happens if a jersey arrives with the wrong number or an open seam?

A wrong number or an open seam is a manufacturing defect covered by the free remake guarantee. Send photos and the order reference within 7 days of delivery; ZipaSports confirms within 24 hours in business hours, puts the remake into production within 3 days and ships the replacement at no charge, or credits the piece if the club prefers.

Can you match our existing jersey colours and sock stripes for a reorder?

ZipaSports matches existing jersey colours and sock stripes for a reorder from a physical sample or from Pantone references. The studio reproduces the colourway and stripe layout in the mockup, and once approved the references stay on file. Any colour can be reproduced in sublimation, and twill and thread colours are matched as closely as the swatch range allows.
