The Team Kit Buying Guide for Clubs
Decide the range first
Most clubs order in one of three tiers. Ordering the tiers together in one production run keeps colours identical across garments, because everything prints from the same artwork in the same batch.
| Tier | What is in it | Typical buyer |
|---|---|---|
| Match only | Match jerseys, shorts, socks | Sunday-league sides, one-season squads |
| Match + training | Match kit plus training jerseys and shorts | Clubs training twice a week or more |
| Full club range | Home and away complete kits, training wear, presentation tracksuits, kit bags | Academies, multi-team clubs, sponsored sides |
Collect sizes properly — this is where orders go wrong
The single most common kit mistake is guessing sizes. Do it in three steps instead:
- Circulate a size sheet with chest and waist measurements against each size, not just the letters — the size chart guide has ready-to-use tables covering adult XS–5XL, women's XS–4XL and youth sizes.
- Use try-on samples where possible. A physical sample in your chosen size (5–7 days, at cost, credited on the bulk order) lets squad members try before you commit a size run.
- Record sizes per player by name, because names and numbers are printed per garment — a size list and a name list must be the same list.
Fit varies by cut: match jerseys are athletic-cut, training wear slightly relaxed, and women's and youth garments are graded patterns, not shrunk adult ones. When a player sits between sizes, size up for outfield comfort, down for a compression-fit preference.
The spares rule
Order spares with the main run, not after it — a later top-up is a new production run with a new minimum. Suggested planning figures (these are planning suggestions, not rules):
| Squad size | Suggested jerseys | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 15 players | 18–19 | 2–3 spares covers mid-season joiners and damage |
| 20 players | 23–25 | Add a spare per common size (M, L) |
| 25+ / multi-team | +10–15% | Pool spares across teams in shared colours |
Spares are best ordered blank-backed or with numbers only (no names), so any player can wear them. Goalkeeper kit needs its own spare — it is a different colourway.
Names, numbers and sponsors
On sublimated kit, player names, numbers and sponsor logos are printed into the fabric with the design — they cannot peel, and they add no per-item application step. Send the sponsor logo as a vector file (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) with your artwork; placement (chest, sleeve, back) is shown on the free 24-hour mockup before you approve. Home and away designs can run in one order from the same artwork, and the same club crest and sponsors carry across both.
Timing: approve 8 weeks before the season
Bulk production takes 15–25 business days after design approval, plus 5–10 days express shipping from Sialkot — so approve your design roughly 8 weeks before the first fixture, or 4–5 weeks on express production. The lead-time guide has a full season-planning table. Reorders are faster: your patterns, artwork and Pantone references stay on file, so next season's kit matches this season's exactly.
What it costs
Every club order is quoted individually — pricing depends on the garments, quantities, fabric and decoration choices, and destination. Send your squad list and design idea on WhatsApp (+92 300 7019281) for a same-day quote with a free digital mockup; the cost drivers guide explains what moves a kit quote up or down. The minimum order is 20–25 pieces per design, lower on request — a single squad clears it comfortably.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many spare jerseys should a club order?
Order 2–3 spare jerseys per squad of 15, or roughly 10–15% extra for larger and multi-team clubs, in the same production run. Spares ordered later are a new production run with a new minimum, so add them up front — ideally numbered but not named.
How should a club collect player sizes?
Circulate a measurement-based size sheet (chest and waist in centimetres against each size), use a try-on sample where possible, and record sizes per player by name so the size list and the name-print list are the same list.
Can home and away kits be ordered together?
Yes — home and away designs run in one order from the same artwork, which keeps crests, sponsors and colours identical across both and clears the 20–25 piece minimum as one order.
When should a club order kit for a September season?
Approve the final design by early July for standard production (15–25 business days plus 5–10 days shipping), or early August with express production. Working backwards: first fixture minus 8 weeks is the safe approval deadline.
What is the minimum order for a team kit?
The minimum order for custom team kit at ZipaSports is 20–25 pieces per design, with lower quantities possible on request — a standard squad order clears it comfortably. There is no MOQ limit for sportswear brands and kit suppliers.
