Woven Labels, Size Tags, Hang Tags & Retail Packaging

In short: ZipaSports finishes private-label orders in-house in Sialkot, Pakistan: your woven neck label, printed size and care labels or tagless neck print in each garment, your hang tag attached, and every piece folded into a polybag and packed in export cartons. Labels and packaging are ordered with the garments at the same minimum of 20–25 pieces per design, so a new brand receives shelf-ready stock rather than blank output.

What in-house private-label finishing includes

Private-label finishing is every step between the last seam and the shipping carton that puts your brand, and only your brand, on the product. ZipaSports does all of it inside the same factory in Sialkot, Pakistan that cuts and sews the garment, so labels go in on the production line rather than being added by a second supplier afterwards.

Woven neck labels: damask vs satin

A woven label is made on a loom from coloured threads, so your logo is part of the label's structure rather than ink on its surface. It does not wash out, and it is the one detail that makes a garment read as a brand instead of as factory output. Two constructions are supplied, damask and satin.

ConstructionSurface and feelDetail it holdsSuits
DamaskDense, matt, soft against the skinFine detail, small text, several coloursActivewear, fightwear, teamwear; most brands
SatinSmooth, glossy faceSimple wordmarks and bold shapesFashion-led ranges, dancewear, bras

Fold type decides how the label sits. An end-fold label is stitched at both short ends and lies flat on the neck; a centre-fold (loop) label is folded in half and caught in the neck seam so the fold shows; a mitre fold gives a hanging loop for waistbands and side seams. Size, fold, colour count and edge finish are all set out on the label layout returned with your garment mockup, so nothing is left to be assumed at the sewing line.

Printed size labels, care labels and tearaway labels

Size and care labels are printed on soft satin or a similar tape and carry the information most markets require by law: fibre composition, care instructions, country of origin (Made in Pakistan) and, in some markets, the brand or importer's name and address. These are printed in-house to the wording and layout you supply. The brand remains responsible for confirming its own market's rules; tell us the destination country and the label is set out accordingly.

Care symbols follow the wash, bleach, dry, iron and professional-clean sequence, and the instruction is matched to the garment: sublimated polyester is washed cold and not ironed over the print, cotton-polyester fleece is tumble-dried low, and gi fabric is washed cold to limit shrinkage.

A tearaway label prints the same information on a tape with a perforated line so the wearer can remove it cleanly after purchase. It suits tees, hoodies and casual ranges where customers expect to tear the tag out. Size can also be woven as a tab on the neck label itself, or added as a colour-coded loop for quick picking in a warehouse.

Tagless heat-transfer neck prints

A tagless label is a heat-transfer print applied directly to the inside neck or waistband, and it is the right choice for garments worn on bare skin: leggings, sports bras, seamless tops, rash guards, compression wear and dance leotards. There is no edge to rub and nothing for the wearer to cut out.

ZipaSports applies tagless prints on the same heat-press lines used for garment decoration. The transfer stretches with 4-way stretch knits without cracking, and a single print carries the logo, size, fibre content, care symbols and origin, replacing the woven label, size label and care label in one operation. Keep the artwork to one or two colours and treat it as a functional label rather than a decoration; the process is described on the heat transfer page.

Tagless prints and woven labels are often combined: a woven label on the outside of the waistband or at the hem as the visible brand mark, and a tagless print inside for the information a small woven label cannot carry legibly.

Hang tags, swing tickets and stickers

A hang tag is a printed card tag attached to the finished garment with a string, safety pin or plastic barb, and it is usually the first branded item a retail customer handles. Hang tags are printed to your artwork in the card weight, shape and finish you specify: single- or double-sided print, matt or gloss lamination, a drilled hole with coloured string or a metal eyelet, or a safety pin for bags and accessories.

The tag is where price, barcode and size go if you do not want them on the garment. Supply a barcode per size and colour and it is printed on the tag or on a separate adhesive sticker; a size sticker on the polybag repeats the information so a bag can be picked without opening it. Multi-part tags, a brand-story insert or a folded care booklet are printed and attached in the same operation.

For club and academy orders a hang tag can carry the player name and number instead of a price, so a kit manager can hand out a carton without opening bags.

Polybags, cartons and folding

Every finished garment is folded to a set fold, sealed in its own polybag with a size sticker and packed into export cartons by style and size, so it can be counted, shelved or shipped without repacking. Bags are clear self-seal polythene as standard; branded polybags printed with your logo are available on request.

CartonExport carton with contents label: style, colour, size, quantityBranded carton print; barcode carton label for a fulfilment warehouse; dimensions to your 3PL specification

Cartons are packed to the ratio you set, for example one carton per size, or a mixed size run per carton for a small retailer, and the packing list matches the carton labels so a warehouse can receive against it. Freight options are on the shipping policy page.

What artwork and information to send

Labels and packaging are produced from your files, so clear input means faster approval. The table lists what is needed for each item.

If you have only a logo and an idea, the free design service lays out the label set, hang tag and polybag alongside your garment mockup within 24 hours, with unlimited revisions before approval. A physical label and tag set is produced with your garment sample in 5–7 days, charged at sample cost and credited against the bulk order, so you approve every trim in hand before production. The tech pack guide shows where trims sit in a full specification.

MOQ, lead time and why this makes a startup retail-ready

Labels, tags and packaging are ordered as part of the garment order at the same minimum: 20–25 pieces per design, lower on request, and no MOQ limit for sportswear brands and companies. There is no separate label programme and no need to buy thousands of labels ahead of a first run; trims are produced for the quantity you order and finished within the 15–25 business day production window.

For a new brand this is the difference between receiving product and receiving stock. Twenty-five pairs of leggings with your woven label, care label, hang tag and branded bag can be photographed, listed and posted to a customer the day they arrive. The same twenty-five without labels cannot be sold compliantly in most markets until a care label is added. The private-label page and the guide on how to start an activewear brand cover the route from first sample to first order.

Trims are checked at final QC against the approved specification: right label in the right garment, right size tag, right care wording, tag attached, bag sealed, carton count. Quality Guarantee: if any garment arrives with a manufacturing defect, we remake it free of charge — the remake goes into production within 3 days of your report. A wrong or missing label against the approved specification counts as a defect.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put my own brand label on the garments?

Yes, ZipaSports sews your own woven neck label, printed size and care labels and hang tags into every private-label order and packs the garments in your polybags and cartons. No ZipaSports branding appears on the finished product or its packaging.

What is the difference between damask and satin woven labels?

Damask is a dense, matt woven label that holds fine detail and feels soft on the skin; satin has a smooth, glossy face suited to simple wordmarks. Damask is the usual choice for activewear and fightwear brands, satin for fashion-led and dance ranges.

What has to be on a care label?

Most markets require fibre composition, care instructions and country of origin (Made in Pakistan), and some also require the brand or importer's name and address. Exact wording differs between the UK, EU, USA, Canada and Australia; tell us the destination and we print the required text to your instructions.

Can you do tagless labels instead of sewn-in labels?

Yes, ZipaSports applies tagless labels as a heat-transfer neck print instead of sewn-in labels. The print carries your logo, size, fibre content and care symbols directly on the inside neck or waistband. It is standard on leggings, sports bras, seamless tops, rash guards and compression wear, and it stretches with the fabric without cracking.

Is there a minimum order for labels and packaging?

Labels, tags and packaging are ordered with the garments at the same minimum: 20–25 pieces per design, lower on request, and no MOQ limit for sportswear brands and companies. You do not buy labels separately or in advance.

Can you print barcodes on hang tags?

Yes, barcodes are printed on hang tags. Supply the barcode number or image for each size and colour and it is printed on the hang tag or on a separate adhesive sticker. Barcode carton labels for a fulfilment warehouse are printed from the data you send.

Do you pack each garment individually?

Yes, each garment is packed individually: it is folded, sealed in its own polybag with a size sticker and packed in export cartons by style and size in the ratio you set. Team orders can be packed per player instead, with each bag labelled by name and number.

What artwork do you need for a woven label?

A woven label needs a vector logo (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) with Pantone references, plus the label size and fold type. If you only have a PNG or an idea, the free design service redraws it and returns a label layout with your garment mockup within 24 hours.

Will the woven label match my logo colour exactly?

Woven labels use coloured thread, so each colour is matched to the closest yarn shade rather than mixed like ink. Most Pantone references match closely; a physical label sample is produced with your garment sample in 5–7 days so you approve it before bulk.

Do labels and packaging add to the lead time?

Labels and packaging do not add to the lead time when label artwork is approved together with the garment mockup. Trims are produced inside the 15–25 business day production window and applied on the line. Approving labels late is the usual cause of delay, so send label text and files with your first artwork.
