Who this page is for, and the short answer
This page is written for the person who orders kit for a netball academy, a school netball programme or a club with junior sections: the head coach, the PE lead, the club secretary or the parent volunteer. ZipaSports manufactures the whole netball kit in-house in Sialkot, Pakistan, from the sublimated dress and position bibs down to socks and backpacks.
The facts an academy needs first: the minimum order is 20–25 pieces per design, lower quantities are possible on request for top-ups, and there is no MOQ limit for sportswear brands and companies. Sizes can be mixed freely within one design, so an under-11 dress and a senior dress in the same print count towards the same minimum.
The design service is free. Send a crest, your colours and a rough idea, and the studio returns a digital mockup within 24 hours with unlimited revisions before you approve. A physical sample takes 5–7 days if you want to check the dress length on a real player first; its cost is credited against the bulk order. The full range is on the netball teamwear page.
Which netball garments an academy orders
Most academies build the order around a match dress or a skort-and-top set, then add training and off-court pieces so every age group looks like one programme on match day. The table lists the pieces we make most often for netball academies, with the fabric options and the decoration method used on each.
| Garment | Fabric options | Decoration | Who wears it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Netball dress and junior dress | Polyester interlock, 140–180 GSM, moisture-wicking | Full sublimation: crest, sponsor, name and number in the print | Match squads, all age bands |
| Skort with fitted top | Interlock or polyester-spandex 4-way stretch | Sublimation | Academies that prefer separates to a dress |
| Position bibs | Polyester mesh or interlock | Sublimated position letters front and back | Seven per team, plus spares |
| Bodysuit and compression shorts | Nylon-spandex or polyester-spandex, 240–300 GSM | Plain, or small sublimated crest | Worn under the dress |
| Training tee | Polyester interlock or mesh, 140–180 GSM | Sublimation, or screen print on a plain colour | Every player, every session |
| Warm-up jacket and joggers | Cotton-polyester fleece 280–350 GSM or performance poly fleece 240–300 GSM | Embroidered crest, printed name | Travel and courtside |
| Socks | Polyester-cotton-spandex knit | Sublimated or knitted-in colour | Match and training |
Umpire dresses and coach polos are made in the same colour files so the whole bench matches; see the umpire dress and coach polo pages.
Can our academy order mixed youth and adult sizes in one run?
Yes. One netball dress design can be cut in every size from the youngest junior band to adult XL in a single production run, and the whole run counts towards one minimum of 20–25 pieces. An academy with three under-13s, nine under-15s and eight seniors in the same print has a valid order.
Grading is done on computerised pattern software, so the crest, side panels and hem detail scale correctly rather than shrinking into a blur on the smallest sizes. Junior dress skirt length is set on the size specification you approve before cutting, so coaches and parents can specify the length they expect.
If you already have a size chart the players know, send it and we grade to it. If you do not, we send our youth and adult charts with chest, waist and dress-length measurements so coaches can measure players in one session. A size set, made as physical samples in 5–7 days, is the usual route for a first order across many age bands. Read the size chart guide for how to measure.
Position bibs, initials and sponsors
Position bibs are easy to under-order. Each team on court needs seven bibs (GS, GA, WA, C, WD, GD, GK) and most academies run several teams per age group, so a bib count of two full sets per team is the usual starting point. Bibs are sublimated, which means the position letters are dyed into the fabric front and back and cannot peel off after a season of being pulled over heads.
Names, initials and numbers on the dress are also sublimated, printed as part of the design rather than added afterwards, so there is no applied lettering that can lift. Send the list as a spreadsheet with size, name and number per player and it is matched to the cutting list.
Sponsor logos and school crests go into the same print file. A crest on a fleece jacket or polo is embroidered instead, because those fabrics do not take sublimation dye. Details of what can be printed where are on the names, numbers and sponsor logos page and the dye-sublimation page.
Ordering timeline for a netball season
Work backwards from the first fixture. The timeline below adds up the stages a first-time academy order goes through, using the standard lead times; a reorder of an approved design skips the sample stage and starts at bulk production.
| Stage | Time | What the academy does |
|---|---|---|
| Brief received, free digital mockup returned | Within 24 hours | Sends crest, colours, garment list and player count |
| Revisions and approval | As long as you need; unlimited revisions | Shares the mockup with coaches and committee |
| Physical sample (optional, credited against bulk) | 5–7 days plus courier | Tries the dress on a junior and a senior player |
| Bulk production | 15–25 business days after approval | Confirms size and name list before cutting |
| Express production, when a deadline is fixed | 7–12 days at additional cost | Approves quickly and sends the list on day one |
| Courier to UK, USA, Canada, Australia or Europe | 5–10 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS | Receives one boxed shipment, sorted by team if requested |
In practice, an academy that briefs us a full term ahead of the season has time for a sample, a fitting session and standard production without paying for express. An academy that briefs us six weeks out uses the express route.
Reordering the same dress next intake
Every September, or every January in the southern hemisphere, a netball academy takes in new players who need the same dress the rest of the squad already wears. ZipaSports keeps the print file, the Pantone references, the size specification and the crest digitising on record after the first order, so a reorder is placed by sending a new size list only.
Colour consistency between orders is the part academies worry about most. Because the dress is sublimated from a saved file onto the same polyester interlock, a dress made this intake matches a dress made last intake within normal shade tolerance. Colour-fastness checks are run on the sublimated fabric before it is cut, and the reorder is printed from the stored file rather than re-created.
Small reorders are possible. The 20–25 minimum applies to a new design; a top-up of an existing design for new intake players can be lower on request, and there is no MOQ limit for sportswear brands and companies. This is the same policy that applies to the other academy programmes we supply.
What you need to send us
A complete brief lets the studio produce a mockup that is right first time. Nothing on the list has to be polished; a phone photo of the current dress and a crest from the school website are enough to begin. The table shows what we ask for and what happens if you do not have it yet.
| Item | Format | If you do not have it |
|---|---|---|
| Academy crest or school badge | Vector (AI, EPS, PDF) or a large PNG | We redraw it as vector at no charge |
| Colours | Pantone references, or a photo of the current kit | We match to the photo and confirm on the mockup |
| Garment list | Dress, skort and top, bibs, training tee, jacket, socks, bag | We suggest a bundle by age group |
| Size breakdown | Spreadsheet: player, size, name, number | We send youth and adult size charts to measure against |
| Bib count | Number of teams per age group | We calculate seven bibs per team plus spares |
| Sponsor logos | Vector files, with placement wishes | Placed on the mockup for approval |
| Deadline | First fixture or tournament date | We propose standard or express production |
| Delivery address | School, club or a named parent, plus country | Needed for the shipping quote |
Send the brief on WhatsApp or by email; WhatsApp replies come within 2 hours during business hours and email within 24 hours.
Shipping to the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Europe, and the Quality Guarantee
Netball academy kit ships from Sialkot by DHL, FedEx or UPS and arrives in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Europe in 5–10 days, with tracking sent to the person who placed the order. Each shipment carries a commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin; import duty or VAT in the destination country is payable by the receiving academy unless a different arrangement is agreed at quotation. Sea freight, at 3–6 weeks, suits a large multi-school order. Country detail is on the UK, Australia and shipping policy pages.
Every academy order is covered by the Quality Guarantee: if any garment arrives with a manufacturing defect, we remake it free of charge — the remake goes into production within 3 days of your report. A print fault, an open seam, a missing bib letter or a dress cut to the wrong size against the approved specification all qualify. Send photos and the order reference on WhatsApp or email within 7 days of delivery; we confirm within 24 hours on business days and ship the replacements at no charge. Made-to-order dresses with your crest cannot be returned for change of mind. The policy is set out in full on the Quality Guarantee page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can our academy order mixed youth and adult sizes in one order?
Yes — one netball dress design can be cut from the smallest junior size to adult XL in a single run, and all sizes count towards the same 20–25 piece minimum. Send a spreadsheet of player, size, name and number and we grade the print to every size on computerised pattern software.
What is the minimum order for a netball academy kit?
The minimum is 20–25 pieces per design, with sizes mixed freely within that number. Lower quantities are possible on request for top-ups of an existing design, and there is no MOQ limit for sportswear brands and companies.
Do you make netball dresses or only skorts and tops?
ZipaSports manufactures sublimated netball dresses, junior dresses, skorts, fitted tops, sleeveless tops and bodysuits in Sialkot, Pakistan, so an academy can choose a dress for match day and separates for training, or mix the two across age groups within one order.
How many position bibs should an academy order?
A netball team on court needs seven position bibs (GS, GA, WA, C, WD, GD, GK), and most academies order two full sets per team so a wet or lost bib never stops a match. Bibs are sublimated with the letters front and back, and they count as their own design towards the minimum.
Can we add player names and numbers to the dresses?
Yes — names, initials and numbers are sublimated into the dress as part of the print, so they cannot peel or crack and there is no applied lettering that can lift. Send the list with the size breakdown before production; a spare unnamed dress or two per age group is worth adding for late joiners.
How long does a netball academy kit take from Pakistan?
The free digital mockup arrives within 24 hours, an optional physical sample takes 5–7 days, bulk production takes 15–25 business days after approval, and courier delivery to the UK, USA, Canada, Australia or Europe takes 5–10 days. Express production in 7–12 days is available at additional cost.
Will next year's dresses match the ones we bought this year?
A netball dress reordered next intake matches this intake's dress within normal shade tolerance. The print file, Pantone references, size specification and crest are kept on record after the first order, and the reorder is sublimated onto the same polyester interlock. Colour-fastness checks are run on the sublimated fabric before it is cut.
What fabric are the netball dresses made from?
Match dresses use 100% polyester interlock with a moisture-wicking finish at 140–180 GSM, which takes sublimation dye and holds its shape through repeated washing. Bodysuits and compression shorts worn underneath use nylon-spandex or polyester-spandex 4-way stretch at 240–300 GSM.
Can we see a sample before we commit the whole academy?
Yes — after the free mockup, a physical sample dress is made in 5–7 days and charged at sample cost, which is then credited against your bulk order. Many academies order a small size set so a junior and a senior player can try the length and fit before approval.
What happens if some dresses arrive with a fault?
Defective netball dresses and bibs are remade free of charge under the ZipaSports Quality Guarantee, with the remake in production within 3 days of your report. Send photos and the order reference on WhatsApp or email within 7 days of delivery; we confirm within 24 hours on business days and ship the replacements to the academy at no charge, or issue a credit if you prefer.
