Three softball orders we see most, and how each one is placed
A softball club orders from ZipaSports by sending a logo, colours and a roster, and receives a free digital mockup of the full uniform within 24 hours. From there the three most common softball orders differ mainly in who is being dressed and how many designs are involved.
A travel fastpitch team usually orders two jerseys per player (one light, one dark), one pair of pants, sliding shorts, a visor and a bat backpack, in youth sizes graded up to a few adults. A rec-league or church slowpitch side typically wants one sublimated jersey with a sponsor on the back, matching shorts or joggers, and a fan tee for the family in the bleachers. A club or league ordering for several teams sends one roster per team; each team's colourway counts as its own design at 20–25 pieces, and lower quantities are possible on request for a small B-team or a coaching staff set.
The minimum order is 20–25 pieces per design, lower on request, and there is no MOQ limit for sportswear brands and companies. Mixed sizes within one design are allowed, so a fastpitch roster of eleven girls and three coaches is one design, not two.
The softball uniform list with fabric, GSM and decoration
Every garment a softball club needs is listed below with fabric options and the decoration we normally recommend. All of it is made at the ZipaSports factory in Sialkot, Pakistan, and ships together.
| Garment | Fabric options | Decoration | Who wears it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full-button and two-button softball jerseys | 100% polyester interlock or pin-dot mesh, moisture-wicking, 140–180 GSM | Sublimation; tackle twill on request | Fastpitch and slowpitch players |
| Sleeveless softball jerseys worn over a compression top | Polyester interlock 140–180 GSM | Sublimation | Fastpitch, hot-weather tournaments |
| Long-sleeve compression tops | Nylon-spandex or polyester-spandex 4-way stretch, 240–300 GSM | Sublimation or heat transfer | Under sleeveless jerseys; pitchers |
| Softball pants and knicker pants | Polyester knit or woven, weight confirmed on your spec sheet; belt loops or elastic waist; piping option | Embroidered crest or sublimated stripe | All players |
| Sliding shorts | Polyester-spandex 4-way stretch with padded hip panels | Small heat-transfer logo | Base runners, all fastpitch players |
| Visors and caps | Structured polyester or poly-cotton | Embroidery | Whole roster and coaches |
| Warm-up jackets and quarter-zips | Performance polyester fleece 240–300 GSM or interlock shell | Embroidery or sublimation | Dugout, travel days |
| Bat bags and bat backpacks | 600D polyester or 420D nylon, reinforced base | Embroidery or sublimated panel | Every player |
Coach polos in polyester piqué at 160–200 GSM, umpire shirts, socks and fan tees sit in the same catalogue under softball teamwear.
Sublimated, tackle twill or embroidered: which finish for a softball jersey?
Full dye-sublimation is the right choice for most club softball jerseys because the team name, number, player name, pinstripes and sponsor are all printed into the polyester in one pass, with nothing to crack or peel. Sewn tackle twill lettering gives the raised, traditional look some travel programmes want on a front script, and embroidery is what we use on visors, polos, jackets and bags.
| Method | Feel and look | Colour limits | Where a softball club uses it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dye-sublimation | Flat, no hand-feel, unlimited pattern coverage (camo, fade, pinstripe) | Unlimited, matched to Pantone | Jerseys, sleeveless tops, compression, shorts, fan tees |
| Tackle twill / appliqué | Raised, stitched-edge lettering | Solid twill colours | Front script and numbers on button-down jerseys |
| Embroidery | Raised thread, hard-wearing | Thread shades; suits crests with a few colours | Visors, coach polos, warm-ups, bat bags |
| Heat transfer / DTF | Thin film layer | Full colour | Small logos on sliding shorts and spandex |
A club can combine methods in one order: sublimated jersey body, tackle twill front script, embroidered visor. The mockup shows each element so nothing is assumed.
Names, numbers, sponsors and the roster spreadsheet
Player names and numbers on a sublimated softball jersey are printed into the garment in the same pass as the rest of the design, so a club sends one roster spreadsheet and every jersey is printed to it. The columns we need are player name as it should appear, number, jersey size, pants size and, for a two-jersey order, confirmation that both jerseys carry the same number.
Back numbers on softball jerseys are typically large and centred, with a smaller front number on the chest or hip if the league asks for one. Names sit above the back number in an arc or straight line; the mockup shows both so the coach chooses. Sponsors on a rec-league jersey usually go on the back below the number or on a sleeve, while a travel programme tends to keep the front for the team script and put sponsor marks on the sleeve and the pants leg.
Sponsor logos should be supplied as vector files (AI, EPS or PDF). A JPEG from a sponsor's website can be redrawn by our studio as part of the free design service, but vector files avoid a redraw round. The full placement options are on names, numbers and sponsor logos.
Youth fastpitch grading, women's cuts and mixed sizes in one run
A softball order at ZipaSports can mix youth, women's and men's sizes within the same 20–25 piece design, which matters because a 10U fastpitch roster and its coaching staff never wear the same size run. Youth and children's sizes are available, women's sizes run XS–4XL and adult sizes XS–5XL, and the pattern is graded on computerised grading so a youth small and an adult large carry the same proportions of stripe, script and number.
Women's fastpitch jerseys are cut with a shorter body, narrower shoulder and a contoured side seam rather than simply being a smaller men's shirt. Pants follow the same rule: women's softball pants are cut with a higher rise and a wider hip than baseball pants of the same waist size. If your club has its own measurements, we build the size chart to them; if not, we send a chart with chest, waist and length in centimetres and inches for the coach to circulate.
For a new travel team, a physical sample in 5–7 days at sample cost, credited against the bulk order, is the safest way to confirm the fit before a full roster is cut. Our size chart guide explains how to run a quick try-on session at practice.
Home, away and the alternate jersey
Most softball leagues expect the home team to wear its light jersey and the visiting team its dark jersey, so a club that plays in a scheduled league normally orders both jerseys in the first run and one pair of pants that works with either. Check your own league's rules on this; the convention is common but not universal, and tournament organisers often let teams choose.
The practical way to build a two-jersey set is to keep the pants, sliding shorts, visor and bag in one colour that works with both jerseys, typically white, grey or the club's dark colour, and invert the jersey scheme: club colour body with white script for the dark set, white body with club colour script for the light set. Because the jerseys are sublimated, the second colourway is a separate design file rather than a separate print method, and each counts as its own design for the 20–25 piece minimum.
An alternate or 'Friday' jersey in a camo, fade or memorial theme is a popular third design for travel teams; the same roster file drives it, so numbers and names stay consistent across all three.
Season countdown: working back from opening day
A softball club should place its order at least seven to eight weeks before opening day if it wants standard production and courier delivery with time for a try-on. The table below works back from the first game using ZipaSports' published stages.
| Stage | Time it takes | Latest start before opening day | Club action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brief sent, free digital mockup returned | Within 24 hours | 8 weeks out | Send logo, colours, garment list |
| Mockup revisions and approval | Unlimited revisions; usually a few days | 7–8 weeks out | Coach and sponsors sign off |
| Optional physical sample | 5–7 days plus courier | 7 weeks out | Check fit on one player |
| Roster and size breakdown confirmed | Same day | 6 weeks out | Final names and numbers |
| Bulk production (standard) | 15–25 business days after approval | 5–6 weeks out | Pre-shipment photos on request |
| Bulk production (express) | 7–12 days, at additional cost | 3 weeks out | Sublimated garments only recommended |
| Courier (DHL, FedEx, UPS) | 5–10 days worldwide | 2 weeks out | Track, clear customs, distribute |
The clock starts when the mockup and size breakdown are both approved, so a roster that is still changing pauses production. Spring leagues in the USA and Canada mean the busiest brief period is December to February; a club that sends its brief before the holidays has the calmest path.
What the club secretary or team manager sends us, and how reorders work
One email or WhatsApp message with the items in the table below is enough to start a softball order; the ZipaSports studio produces the mockup from it within 24 hours.
| Item | Format | Needed for |
|---|---|---|
| Club or team logo | Vector (AI, EPS, PDF) preferred; PNG accepted | Mockup |
| Colours | Pantone references, or a photo of the current uniform | Mockup |
| Garment list | Jersey style (full-button, two-button, sleeveless), pants, extras | Mockup and quote |
| Roster | Spreadsheet: name, number, jersey size, pants size | Production |
| Sponsor logos | Vector, with the placement each sponsor was promised | Mockup |
| Delivery address and deadline | Country, postcode, first game date | Quote and shipping plan |
| Label preference | ZipaSports neutral label or your club's woven label | Production |
Reorders are simpler because the design file, Pantone references, digitised crest and size specification stay on record. A mid-season pick-up, a jersey for a new player or a replacement for a torn pair of pants is ordered by name, number and size against the original order reference. Small top-ups below the 20–25 piece minimum are possible on request for existing club orders, and the sublimation file keeps the number font and stripe consistent with the original run.
Shipping to the USA, Canada, Australia, UK and Europe, and the Quality Guarantee
Softball orders leave Sialkot by DHL, FedEx or UPS and reach the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK and Europe in 5–10 days, with the courier clearing customs and tracking sent to the club. Import duty and tax in the destination country are payable by the club on arrival unless otherwise agreed; commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin are supplied. Sea freight at 3–6 weeks suits a large multi-team league order placed well ahead of the season. Country detail is on USA, Canada and Australia.
Quality Guarantee: if any garment arrives with a manufacturing defect, we remake it free of charge — the remake goes into production within 3 days of your report. A misprinted number, an open seam, a jersey cut to the wrong size against the approved chart or a missing roster piece all count. Send photos and the order reference on WhatsApp or email within 7 days of delivery; we confirm within 24 hours in business hours, remake the affected pieces and ship them at no charge, or issue a credit if the club prefers. Made-to-order uniforms with your club's design and labels cannot be returned for change of mind. Terms: quality guarantee, return policy; the wider process is in the team kit buying guide for clubs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can our travel fastpitch team order 12 jerseys with names and numbers?
The standard minimum is 20–25 pieces per design, but lower quantities are possible on request for small teams, so a 12-jersey fastpitch order can be discussed. Ordering two jerseys per player (light and dark) usually takes a small team past the minimum anyway, and names and numbers are printed in the same sublimation pass.
Can we mix youth and adult sizes in one softball uniform order?
Youth, women's and men's sizes can be mixed within the same softball design and count towards the same 20–25 piece minimum. The pattern is graded so that stripes, script and numbers keep their proportions from a youth small to an adult 3XL, and women's jerseys and pants use their own cuts.
Do you make full-button softball jerseys or only pullovers?
ZipaSports makes full-button, two-button, V-neck pullover and sleeveless softball jerseys, in polyester interlock or pin-dot mesh at 140–180 GSM. The mockup shows the placket and collar style so the coach can pick the one the league or club tradition calls for.
Are softball pants available in women's cuts and youth sizes?
Softball pants and knicker pants are cut with a women's rise and hip, and youth sizes are graded separately. Belt-loop or elastic-waist styles, piping and an embroidered crest on the hip are all options, and the fabric weight is confirmed on your spec sheet before production.
Can we get sliding shorts, visors and bat bags in the same order?
Padded sliding shorts, embroidered visors and caps, 600D bat bags and bat backpacks are made in the same Sialkot factory and ship with the uniforms. Each style follows the 20–25 piece guide, with lower quantities on request when they accompany a jersey order.
How long does a custom softball uniform order take to reach the USA?
A custom softball uniform order reaches the USA in 15–25 business days of standard production after mockup and size approval, plus 5–10 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS. Express production of 7–12 days is available at additional cost. A free digital mockup is returned within 24 hours of the brief.
Our league has eight teams in different colours. Can you do all of them at once?
Each team's colourway is its own design at 20–25 pieces, and one roster file per team drives the names and numbers. The league can approve all eight mockups together and receive a single shipment, or stagger deliveries by team if some rosters are confirmed later.
Can we add a player mid-season and have the jersey match?
A mid-season jersey for a new player is printed from the sublimation file already on record, so the colours, number font and script match the original run. Pantone references and the size chart stay on file, and small top-ups below the minimum are possible on request for an existing club order.
What if a jersey arrives with the wrong number or a split seam?
A wrong number or a split seam is a manufacturing defect under the ZipaSports Quality Guarantee: the piece is remade free of charge, with the remake in production within 3 days of your report, and shipped at no charge. Send photos and the order reference within 7 days of delivery on WhatsApp or email.
Do you also make baseball uniforms for our club's boys' teams?
ZipaSports manufactures baseball jerseys, pants and bags in the same Sialkot factory as its softball kit, so a club running both programmes can keep one crest, one colour set and one supplier. See the baseball club page for that side of the order.
