From tech pack to graded pattern in our Sialkot factory
Send whatever you have. A full tech pack with a measurement chart is the fastest start, but a reference garment, a sketch with fit notes, or a competitor jersey you want the fit benchmarked against will all get a range moving.
From that we produce a digital mockup within 24 hours, free, with unlimited revisions before approval. Once the graphic is signed off, the pattern work begins: computerised pattern making and size grading against your chart, then computer-controlled cutting so every panel repeats the same shape across the run.
The details worth deciding before the pattern is cut are the ones that are expensive to change later. On an MX jersey: sleeve length and cuff, collar height, body length front to back for a riding position, mesh placement under the arms. Decoration on a private-label riding range
Full-garment dye sublimation is the method most riding brands build on, because it puts unlimited colours across a whole jersey with no added weight, no raised edge and no cracking or peeling at the print. The dye bonds into the polyester fibre, so a graphic that reaches the seams stays there through a season of mud and washing.
The other methods do jobs sublimation cannot. Embroidery gives a raised, durable brand mark on fleece, caps and paddock jackets. Screen printing is efficient for a single-colour logo repeated across a large tee run. DTF and heat transfer handle short runs and late sponsor additions on garments already made. For a first range, allow time for two rounds of fit comment on the sample. That is the single decision that most affects whether a second season is a reorder or a rebuild.
Reorders and pattern storage: what your supplier keeps between seasons
After your first production run we hold the pattern set, the graded measurement chart, the approved print files, Pantone references and your label artwork, so a reorder is quoted against the recorded specification rather than reverse-engineered from a sample you post back.
Adding to a range is then a partial job rather than a fresh start. A new colourway on an existing block needs only a new print file. A new size added to the chart needs a grading step, not a new pattern. A new garment shape needs the full sample cycle, and it is worth grouping those into one sampling round rather than sending them one at a time.
Two tolerances carry across seasons and should be written into your own quality documents: fabric shade can vary slightly between dye lots, and finished measurements carry roughly ±1–1.5 cm against the chart.
