What a wholesale workwear order from our factory covers

Wholesale workwear at ZipaSports is bulk cut-and-sew production of uniform and site apparel, made to order and packed under your own label. Nothing is pulled from stock: every carton is cut against an approved specification, in your colour, with your woven label, your size tags and your packing.

The buyers placing these orders are safety and PPE distributors, uniform wholesalers and teamwear resellers, workwear retailers, promotional-merchandise companies holding a corporate uniform contract, and established workwear brands moving production to a factory that will hold their patterns between seasons. Minimum order quantity for bulk workwear, and the no-limit rule for companies

The minimum order is 20–25 pieces per design, lower on request, and there is no MOQ limit for sportswear brands and companies. For a workwear buyer the floor is usually irrelevant, because a single site uniform already runs past it; it matters when you are trialling a new garment before adding it to a catalogue.

Sizes are open inside a design, so 25 coveralls can be split across S to 5XL in the ratio your customer's workforce actually needs, including women's cuts and custom size charts. Garment colour, not size, is what usually splits an order into separate designs: a yellow hi-vis vest and an orange one are two dye lots and are quoted as two lines.

Contract buyers should send the size curve per garment per colour with the enquiry rather than a round total. The quotation then comes back against your real grid, and the size specification recorded from that grid is what every later top-up is cut against. Bulk order planner for custom workwear: garment, fabric, weight and decoration

Use this planner to size a bulk order before you enquire. The weights are the option bands the factory runs as standard; the exact cloth, weight and finish are fixed when your specification is approved, and that record is what repeat orders are cut against.

Woven workwear cloth is quoted in ounces per square yard and knitted garments in GSM, which is why one table carries both units. Roughly, 1 oz/yd² is about 34 GSM.

Hi-vis in bulk: what we build and what we do not claim

We build hi-vis garments designed to EN ISO 20471 visibility requirements, in fluorescent yellow and fluorescent orange polyester with retroreflective tape. We do not describe our garments as certified to that standard, and we make no flame-retardant or FR claims for any garment. If your end customer's contract requires third-party certified PPE, buy that item from a certified supplier and use us for the rest of the uniform programme.

Within those limits, most of what a distributor needs is straightforward. EN ISO 20471 sets minimum areas of fluorescent background and of retroreflective tape for each class, and tape placement on a vest, jacket or trouser leg is drawn on the mockup so you can see exactly what the finished garment carries before production starts.

Two practical points for bulk buyers. Logos must not cover the reflective tape or reduce the fluorescent area, so branding placement is planned around it. And fluorescent colour is judged against the fabric supplier's shade band, not a Pantone chip, so approve the physical swatch rather than the screen. Detail sits on the hi-vis fabric page.

Blank, blank-with-your-label or fully decorated

A wholesale workwear run can leave the factory in three states, and the decision affects how much stock you can hold speculatively.

• Blank in your colour. Made to order, no branding applied, ready for you to decorate locally when a customer order lands.
• Blank with your labelling. Plain garments carrying your woven neck label, printed size tag, care label and polybag, so warehouse stock is already your own product.
• Fully decorated. Company logos, department names, site names and staff names applied here, packed per size or per employee.

Workwear suits the blank-and-decorate-later model better than most categories, because the usual methods are surface methods. Embroidery, screen printing, DTF and heat transfer all go onto a finished garment, so a distributor can hold plain stock and personalise per contract. Sublimation is the exception: the dye enters the fabric before panels are sewn, so a sublimated polo has to be ordered with its graphic decided. For uniform programmes with named staff, ask for per-piece polybagging with a name sticker so the boxes can go straight out to sites.

Mixed-category orders and staged deliveries

One purchase order can carry the whole uniform programme plus anything else we make, which is how distributors reach a full carton count without over-buying one style. A typical mixed order pairs hi-vis vests and coveralls with work polos, aprons for the canteen, fleece jackets for winter and kit bags.

Each design still needs its own 20–25 pieces, counted per design rather than per order, so mixing categories does not dilute the minimum. Cartons are packed and marked by garment, colour and size with a carton-level packing list, so a warehouse can book goods in without opening every box.

Categories that combine well on a workwear purchase order include wholesale bags and accessories for tool and kit bags, and wholesale sports teamwear where the same client also sponsors a team or runs a company sports day. Buyers who then want the range under their own brand move to private-label workwear.

Repeat orders: what a workwear supplier can promise across sites

Uniform programmes live or die on whether year two matches year one. After the first run we hold the pattern set, the graded size specification, the fabric composition and weight, the Pantone or shade reference and your label artwork on file, so a top-up order is cut to the same recorded specification.

Set expectations on two tolerances in your own customer documents. Dyed fabric can shift slightly in shade between dye lots, which is normal and sits inside shade tolerance rather than counting as a fault; this is most visible on corporate navy and on fluorescent colours viewed side by side. Finished measurements carry a tolerance of about ±1–1.5 cm against the size chart.

Where a contract runs across several sites and several deliveries, the cleanest approach is to order the annual quantity in one production run and call it off in stages, so the whole programme comes from one lot. Where that is not possible, ask for a retained reference swatch from the first run and for pre-shipment photographs against it.

Samples, size sets and fit trials before a bulk run

Every enquiry starts with a free digital mockup within 24 hours, with unlimited free revisions before approval. Send a logo, a photo of the garment you currently supply, or a written brief, and the in-house studio draws the garment with logo and tape placement shown.

A physical sample is charged at sample cost and that cost is adjusted against your bulk order; turnaround is 5–7 days. For workwear the sample earns its keep twice over: it settles the fit of a coverall over a mid-layer, the reach of a sleeve when arms are raised, pocket positions against a tool belt, and how the fabric feels after a wash.
